| Una Voce of Greater Richmond was
established in February 1997 as a local chapter of Una Voce America. The name UNA
VOCE comes from the Latin meaning 'One Voce'. Located in Bon Air, Virginia, the
Richmond chapter of Una Voce seeks as our name implies, to adore Almighty God with 'one
voice'. We have three goals. Foremost is to increase devotion to the Traditional Latin Mass and to ensure the availability of all sacraments and the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, as codified by Pope St. Pius V, to all who desire them. We promote the study of Latin - the language of Holy Mother Church. We seek to foster the continued use of Gregorian chant in the sacred liturgy. Una Voce America, of which we are a local chapter, is part of a international Roman Catholic organization founded in 1964 during the Second Vatican Council. The idea was conceived by Dr. Borghild Krane of Norway, who appealed to concerned Catholics to join together in defense of the Church's Latin heritage. |
